The Velaslavasay Panorama

This weekend we went to a really fun children's event at the Velaslavasay Panorama, a beautiful old theater and garden, in West Adams. Smokehouse films screened a few really wonderful old 16 mm short films which were visually stunning and then let the children draw on their own piece of blank 16 mm film to create a film to screen the same day! I hope that they do more events as it was such a wonderful, informative excursion.  I was a bit nervous bringing Francesca as I though she might be too young but she loved the short films - especially this one from 1957 with original music from Ravi Shankar.  They are also open to the public on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with their amazing Arctic 360 panorama and gardens on display.
