a morning rhythm
sometimes our little ones give us cues to flip the script and we just don't see it clearly. francesca had been getting super sad when elodie would leave the house for preschool and so one day i asked "do you want to go outside?" she happily went to the door clutching one little bootie. and just like that a new morning rhythm emerged.
i now get her dressed just as elodie is about to leave and load her into her wagon bundled in a big fluffy blanket. we walk the same blocks, at the same time every day. we hear birdsong, we see a bright orange bus, smell a new flower blossoming, she clutches a meyer lemon that has fallen off a neighbor's tree. we are both in the morning air. we are both content. on the weekends, elodie joins us. a little rhythm to welcome our day.
