i came across

this

cook book at one of my favorite little outdoor cafes in south pasadena. the cover definitely pulled me in and then i kept flipping the pages faster and faster, ooh-ing and aaah-ing at the relatively simple recipes.

is a venetian bàcaro in soho that i was dying to try the last time i was in london. some of my most cherished cook books come from restaurants in london and this is no exception. the photography is gorgeous, the stories of venice intriguing, polpo pulls you in almost viscerally.
