blueberry night

i look forward to the hour i get to spend with elodie after the baby is put to bed. this is our time to play games, draw pictures, read a story, do puzzles. we leave it open ended and always do something different. tonight we made blueberry muffins together. after we filled the miniature muffin tins with the mixture, we sat on the floor in front of the oven watching them slowly rise. we ate the leftover frozen wild blueberries in small glass cups with a teaspoon of vanilla ice cream. when we got bored of watching and waiting, we read blueberry girl and declared monday "blueberry night." the muffins were almost as good as this unhurried time together.
