june gloom
we went down to
(where i'm from) to visit my dad and stepmom the other day. i love to take the girls and am happy that my dad is retiring soon and i'll be able to visit more. there is something really sweet about my daughters sleeping under the same patch of sky and stars from my childhood. seeing elodie and grandpa makes me so happy. every morning, we walk under the eucalyptus trees to visit the horse next door. the mornings are cold and overcast now that june gloom is here. it's the same year after year. predictable. still, no matter how many times i have experienced june gloom i still tend to dress warm and regret it later. i'm trying to teach elodie that the clouds really will burn off and the sun will be here before we know it.
