technicolor turks & caicos
this time last year we were in turks & caicos. michael was playing there and, being 14 weeks pregnant with francesca, we determined it would be a while before we could slip away together. michael had always wanted to go somewhere with turquoise waters. we are on the pacific ocean and it never gets balmy here. it was so lovely to take naps in the hammock, laze about on the beach, snorkel, read magazines, paddle board, ride bikes, take walks on the beach under a huge starry sky...all of the things that seem totally foreign after having a new baby. sigh. anyways, turks and caicos is a stunningly beautiful place to get lost.
places to stay:
we stayed on
which is gorgeous. there are a ton of options and i really loved this area.
places to eat:
our favorite restaurant hands down was
. it had a secluded little patio and great mediterranean food. they also had a little to-go cafe for snacks and espresso during the day.
for local cuisine,
cannot be beat. the location is stunning and the seafood fresh. michael loved the little rum bar (i stuck to punch!)
the gansevoort is great for a fancy, decent lunch. we borrowed bikes from our hotel and rode the breezy three miles to and from.
things to do:
your hotel will definitely have a range of gear for all types of watersports. i became a huge fan of paddle boarding!
