Elizabeth Antonia is a mother, creative, and friend living in Los Angeles. Welcome to a window into my world.

the happiest place on earth

even though i try to limit media and the amount of characters elodie is exposed to, my one weakness has been disney. my family grew up going one to two times a year and it has been really cute to take elodie with her cousins. i'm really not a fan of the princess worship and so far she has been content with pluto, donald duck, winnie the pooh and thumper. my friends recently went and asked for some tips so i thought i would share them here!

1. prepare
bring a bag with a change of clothes, sunblock, a hat and your toddler's favorite nutritious snacks/drinks. it is so expensive there and the majority of the food offerings are awful and very tempting for the toddler. bring a stroller so your baby/toddler can sleep. it is so easy to just park it and walk around so it's worth bringing even if you don't think you will use it. don't forget your sling!

2. activities we have liked for a 2+ child
a stroll through the castle
carousel
dumbo
casey jones circus train
autopia
tea cups
a nice stroll to frontierland
tarzan's treehouse or jungle cruise (if your child is sensitive to noise, skip it)
winnie the pooh
the riverboat (this is great if you are nursing and want to get your child to sleep)
rocket ships in tomorrowland
it's a small world (you might end up doing this twice!)
minnie mouse's house
the tiki room for a pineapple whip and some cute singing birds

3. slow down and enjoy yourselves
it is a very stimulating place (understatement) and we typically go for an afternoon. there are lots of places to take your little one for downtime while the rest of your party rides big rides and they have a fantastic baby center for nursing mamas. she has fallen asleep on it's a small world, the disneyland railroad, the monorail and the carriage that goes up and down main street. if you are going to go to disneyland, it's best to have no expectations and slow down to see things through your child's eyes. it really can be magic!

this is obviously just a fraction of the activities and i didn't cover california adventure. we are saving peter pan, mr. toad, nemo, etc until she is a little older!

hey, it's the sun and it makes me smile
